Need another dessert for Thanksgiving dinner? Or a quick treat for a girls' night? I have the easy yet delicious solution! This simple toffee has always been a family favorite. It is made from 4-5 ingredients we always have on hand, and the prep time is close to nothing! Enjoy!
Toffee:
- Saltine crackers (a sleeve or two)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 sticks salted butter
- 12 oz. chocolate chips
- Nuts of your choice (optional)
Line a standard size jelly roll pan with aluminum foil.
Lay Saltines in a single layer on the pan.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a saucepan, over high heat, bring the sugar and butter to a boil. Boil for 1 minute.
Remove from the heat and pour over the crackers.
Bake for 8 minutes in the preheated oven.
Then sprinkle with chocolate chips and spread them as they melt.
Top with nuts if desired.
Refrigerate until sufficiently hardened, then break into pieces and enjoy. Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
